STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE, PART C

Standards C is designed especially for appraisers who have successfully completed SPP Parts A and B to fulfill the continuing education requirements of the Appraisal Institute. The course will help you understand the latest standards of ethical behavior and competent performance for the appraisal profession. Participants select and work through a case study on either a residential or a commercial appraisal. Discussion examples show how USPAP applies to situations encountered in everyday appraisal practice.

The contents of the seminar include:

·        Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice with emphasis on the most recent changes

·        Statements and Advisory Opinions of the Appraisal Standards Board

·        Code of Professional Ethics of the Appraisal Institute with emphasis on recent changes

·        Regulation No. 5 of the Appraisal Institute

·        Summary of Enforcement Procedures for Regulation No. 6 (peer review)

·        Discussion of 2002 Standards

You will gain the ability to:

·        Recognize recent changes to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, with emphasis on Statements on Appraisal Standards and Advisory Opinions

·        Analyze situations and examples to determine if a specific behavior violates any standard of USPAP and, if so, suggest how a violation might have been avoided

·        Relate a commercial or residential appraisal report to USPAP and the Code of Professional Ethics
